How Do I Video Chat With my Teacher on Microsoft Teams?
One of the main ways you will communicate with your teachers is through Microsoft Teams. It is a good idea to have Microsoft Teams installed and be familiar with how to use it so that you are ready when you need to place a call to your teacher.
Important Note: All use of your Sask DLC Microsoft 365 account is subject to our Acceptable Use of Technology policy.
Before You Begin
It is strongly recommended that students use their Sask DLC Microsoft 365 to communicate with their teachers. Certain functions of Microsoft Teams are not available to guest users who are signing in with a non-Sask DLC account. This applies whether you are using Teams through the installed app or your web browser. If you have not signed into your Sask DLC Microsoft 365 account yet, please see this article:
Instructions
Step 1: Go to your teacher's bookings page to schedule a time to talk with them using Microsoft Teams. Your teacher should have options for 15 minute and 30 minute appointment slots. Choose the option closest to your needs. See this article if you need help locating your teacher's bookings page:

Step 2: (Optional) Install Microsoft Teams on your computer or mobile device. See here for instructions on how to install Microsoft Teams:

Step 3: You will receive an email invitation when you make your booking. When the time comes for your appointment, click the 'Join your appointment' button in the email.

Step 4: You will be asked to open Microsoft Teams. If you are joining through the installed Microsoft Teams app, click the 'Open' button.

Step 5: If you are joining the meeting through the web browser, click the 'Cancel' button, then the 'Continue on this browser' button.

Important Note: If you are joining through a mobile app, you will be required to install and open the Microsoft Teams app for your device. It is not possible to join a Microsoft Teams call with your teacher in a mobile web browser.
Step 7: Turn on your camera and microphone. If you joined through your browser, you will need to give the site permission to access your microphone and camera the first time you join a Teams meeting.

Step 8: Join the meeting by clicking the 'Join now' button.
